Let's play catch up!
So I have spent the last four days working on my new office…we have torn out a wall, redone all the electrical and lighting built a new wall to separate the guest room and my office and I have been hanging drywall and now am sanding. Blech! I still have one side of the wall to do plus more sanding and that’s not even beginning to think about painting – which will be a dusty purple color. It’s been a pretty long process; especially considering how ridiculously hot it has been for April.
If you are a watcher of the webcams you may notice a few strange girls wandering around – the tall redhead is Stacy, she is (mostly) Bryn’s assistant and the thin brunette you will see from time to time is Mandi Slade, you might remember her, she is a friend of ours and has been on my KSEX show a couple of times plus she has been in a couple g/g movies but mostly she does fetish modeling/movies.

Anyway, Mandi is staying in the guest room (she is shy and turns the cam off) while she is going through some relationship crises. Really, with her active schedule she’s not around much.

Keiko and Kylie
Thursday night on Kylie Live my guest is Keiko, a very lovely redhead who I will be working with in No Man’s Land 39 Friday evening. She’s been on KSEX several times bit has never been on my show and I am looking forward to getting to know her on the show before I get to know her in the movie… Friday’s scene will include four of us total, myself, Keiko, Lauren Phoenix and Aria. Keiko will also be seen doing a DP in the upcoming redhead movie Firebush, directed by Jewel for Platinum X Productions. My scene, as well as the boxcover, will be shot next Tuesday, the 4th. I know the moratorium for the industry is still in place and many people aren’t shooting (c’mon, g/g doesn’t really count, it’s not that risky) but Jewel and I have been planning this for awhile, Michael hasn’t even shot a scene in the last month and all of us will have brand-spanking new tests. I am not worried at all and a really looking forward to it.
I will begin directing in June for PXP, my first project being a fetish themed line, you know, leather & latex type of stuff. I have some great ideas planned… My big movie, Kylie Doesn’t Live Here Anymore has been pushed back to August due to the recent HIV scare – not that I am worried about anything, but Jewel and I decided to wait until this blows over some and everyone is a bit more comfortable with really, really nasty stuff.

"24" Finale Shoot - Kylie reports
Coming to you directly from the filthy LA Riverbed, about a half a block from my warehouse in downtown Los Angeles on a hot pre-summer afternoon in late April...the television show "24" starring Keifer Sutherland is shooting their big season finale, complete with gunfire, a helicopter crashing and exploding in the LA River and F-18's flying over!
Upon hearing the first of dozens of the F-18 Hornet fly-overs, we scuttled down to the source of the action to see what was up. First taking the direct route between the tracks and the river, we were proptly yelled at from the crew across the river to go back. Not because we were in the shot, I am sure, but rather because of the "safety hazards" of the pyrotechnics involved.
Not to be discouraged we backtracked through the trainyards, climbing over 4 trains to get these exclusive behind-the-scenes photos for your viewing pleasure.

Walls tumblin' down
Welcome to today's project. That wall there behind the tall ladder is comin' out today. You are lookin at the location of my new office. We have to tear out a wall, make a doorway and build a wall (between my office and the spare bedroom). I will get to do drywall and painting, Bryn will be doing electrical and framing.
I have wanted to do this for quite some time and am looking forward to it, hopefully this won't take a million years.

Kylie Live last night
On last night's show I went off on one of those fabulous Irish Gemini rants I am so good at - talking mainly about the HIV scare going on right now. The second half of the show I had director Eli Cross and a friend of ours Peaches drop by and join the show. Peaches is a "normal" girl who we gave the porn name Peaches Freemont (first name is the first pet and the second name is the first street you lived on). She was a little shy but everyone seemed to love her nonetheless!

Tonka toys
Last summer there was a great old 1930 style building here. After bidding wars on it, the clothing distributor down the street won it over some chick who wanted to turn it into loft apartments. The clothing distributor tore it down. Rumor was they were expanding their warehouse. The land has sat empty all winter, until this morning. Why do I get the feeling it is going to be a noisy summer?

HIV and my week
Brace yourself, this is a long one!
All right, so here it is Saturday already and after my big promise to write in my diary all week I haven’t touched it. Not that you can blame me after the week it has been.
Monday consisted of running around picking up last minute stuff for the VCA/Hustler all-girl shoot Bryn (Eli Cross) was directing. I was slated to be in two sex scenes (it was a 2 movie shoot totaling 10 scenes) and to run the behind-the-scenes camera for the whole shoot. How I ended up running errands….well, I am a nice person and I want to see these movies come out great; I am always the type who pitches in to make it a better project. After a nice long 12 + hour day of lingerie stores, thrift stores, Ikea, and a stop at VCA to pick up checks (the really important stuff!) we got home exhausted. But we weren’t done yet, a trucker had backed over our fence a couple days ago and we needed to pull some of the busted fence out of the way (also trashing the fence even more in the process – which was fine, considering the insurance adjuster was coming out in the morning to assess the damage). In the process we kicked up a lot of dirt (and god knows what else since they recently tore out an old building behind us) which Joe, our pet homeless guy, and I breathed in. Less than five minutes later we were both hacking out heads off…
Tuesday morning we were both up bright and early, Bryn off to the shoot and me, now sounding very much like a frog and still coughing, off to do more errands then head over to Playboy for Nightcalls XM Radio. Ginger Lynn and I were filling in for Juli and Tiffany who were headed on a plane to New York for a personal appearance. Ginger and I, having been friends for several years now, we were totally at ease and had a great time, as always, hosting the show. We are trying desperately to sweet talk Farrell at Playboy into giving us our own XM radio show. My voice was all raspy from inhaling the dirt and “?” from the night before, but it gave me a great bedroom voice…
The one thing we didn’t mention on the show was the big news that had shaken the porn world that morning…that a performer had come up HIV positive. Darren James, a black performer who I had never worked with before, had tested positive. Immediately all productions were shut down, including Bryn’s VCA/Hustler shoot where they has just finished the first scene. Shooting was put on hold until further notice, or at least until the lists were comprised and all involved quarantined and re-tested. I got home at about 7:20, fed the kitties and Bryn and I curled up, feeling defeated and deflated, and fell asleep.
The next morning all was quiet, we slept late and awaited the lists from AIM Healthcare to be released. The first list after James, consisted of 12 girls, all of whom had worked with him. As the story goes, he had apparently returned from a shoot down in Africa, had unknowingly been infected down there, returned to America and resumed working again. The secondary list consisted of mostly male performers who had worked with the girls on the first list. The third list wasn’t even complied since at that point it would begin to encompass too many people. I was scary to see how the lists spread out with names, like the roots on a tree, and even scarier to see names of friends and people you had worked with dozens of time on that list. I was almost afraid to look, although I hadn’t worked in three weeks and had just gotten a brand new, clean test two days before, I was still scared, afraid to see the name of one of my last partners. All we could do was wait until the tests started rolling back in…
Meanwhile, I was coming down with a cold, brought on by the fence-wrecking fiasco and VCA/Hustler decided to go ahead with the girl/girl movie, since the chances of passing HIV or anything else between girls was nearly impossible. Meanwhile most other companies joined in on the suggestion of AIM, halting production completely.
Thursday morning I woke up feeling dead, which was ironic, since I was supposed to be in the first scene up which was in a morgue. Just thinking about the fact that I was supposed to be laying naked in a cold hospital on an ice-cold autopsy table made me chill. I helped Bryn to find a replacement for me, Mandi Slade, who was perfect for the part since she has porcelain white skin. I slept in, eventually rolling out of bed, taking some cold medicine and ambling over to the Linda Vista, or Loma Linda or Loma Vista Hospital which is about four blocks from where I live. Mandi and Nicole Sheridan were just finishing up the morgue scene when I arrived. I took over the BTS camera and shot some great outtakes, and was planning to be a replacement in the next scene but both girls showed up (we were sure someone would no-show because of the HIV thing). In the middle of the morgue scene we got the call from VCA, letting us know that one of the 12 girls, Laura Roxx, had tested positive and that the entire industry was going on moratorium for 6-8 weeks, at least. They agreed to shoot out the rest of the day, as long as the performers were comfortable with it. Since everyone on the set were friends, and had very current tests we agreed to continue the shoot, but were putting the rest of the movie on hold until further notice. I teased Nicole telling her at least the worst she could catch from me was a cold.
The second scene was shot in the boiler room of the hospital, which is the very same boiler room from the original Nightmare On Elm Street, a chase/rape sequence with Julie Night and Vandalia. I have a long-standing crush on Julie and was very impressed with Vandalia, I’ll have to remember her when I start shooting for Platinum X. By the time the last scene rolled around I was feeling pretty crappy again and was sent home. They had sort-of prepared ahead of time, fearing I wasn’t going to feel up to it and had a replacement, Avy Scott, on standby to work with Julie Night (she did back to back scenes).
I arrived home at 9:30-ish, coughing and sniffling and bummed cause I had asked KSEX to play a replay of Kylie Live, thinking I wouldn’t be done with the shoot in time. Of course I was not supposed to be sick and I was supposed to be in two scenes and, well no one was supposed to be turning up HIV Positive and the industry wasn’t supposed to be shutting down. Nonetheless I felt like crap and just wanted to go to bed so I wasn’t arguing. Besides I would have been coughing and sniffling through the scenes and the KSEX show. I had taken some nighttime cold medicine when the phone rang, I didn’t recognize the number and since I was all groggy, I didn’t answer it. I wandered downstairs and pushed play on the answering machine a few minutes later to hear Tyler Night. He was telling Bryn and I how he had just found out about the HIV thing when he went online and saw Laura Roxx’s picture and it was then that he realized he had worked with her, about three weeks ago, just a couple days before he came to our place to shoot the scene for Sole Sistas 4, with Mya Mason and me. (See Daily Grind dated 3/27/04: “Unhappy Porn Star…”) He wanted to inform us (especially me, even though there was very little contact) and see if we could help him to locate Mya so he could let her know. It dawned on me then and there how close I had come, that was the scene that I actually started, I was strapped up to the bondage cross, Tyler was instructing Mya, by pointing with a crop, where to kiss on my body. I started feeling nauseous and had them untie me from the cross as quickly as possible so I could make I made dash to the bathroom. For the next week I had the flu… Makes ya think doesn’t it?
Now don’t get me wrong, Tyler Night is only quarantined at this point, he immediately called AIM and added himself to the list, and it is proven that it is more difficult for a girl with HIV to pass it on to a guy, so chances are Tyler doesn’t even have it…but still, it certainly opens up a whole world of “ifs”. My heart reaches out to Tyler, I have liked him ever since I met him about a six months ago when he came to our place to shoot. He is smart, well-educated and funny. A total gentleman and good-looking too. It took a lot of guts to make that phone call, which had to be very difficult, more difficult than most of us could ever imagine. I hope that he, as well as the many others, test okay.
There are others on the quarantine list, people I have known for years, which I have shared many adventures with, which I have worked with dozens of times, on that list. Sean Michaels (Face Jam), TT Boy (Never Say Never plus dozens of others), Mark Davis (The Fantasy Chamber +), Alex Sanders (Provacative + and most recently Porn Star 15), Steven St. Croix (Blindfold, 3 On A Honeymoon +), Brian Surewood (Fuck Me; Ariana Jollee), Tony Tedeschi (Babewatch 1 & 2, It Had to Be You +)…they are in my thoughts.
Friday was a quiet day, I slept through it mostly, getting over my cold. Which brings us to Saturday, which will be over by the time I get done typing this. Today director Ren Savant is shooting at my place, a couple scenes from No Mans Land #__? I was supposed to originally have a scene in this movie too except that he forgot that this was an all-natural movie and well, since my boobs are technically bolt-ons…good ones, but still not natural...I couldn't be in it. I ended up shooting behind-the-scenes and doing a non-sex role, where I am getting chased through the streets of LA. In fact I am heading out into the cold to do that chase sequence right now.
Well, that wraps up my week, and wow, what a week!

Grinding into a headache!
Meet Joe. Joe is our pet homeless guy. Every now and then we have him do odd jobs for us, painting, carpentry, etc. I decided I wanted to strip the paint off the old elevator door in the warehouse so we set Joe on the project. It turned into a much bigger project than we expected...he had to strip off three layers of paint and is now grinding it all down to the shiny metal underneath. It has been three days, and still going.
My head is killing me from the constant grinding but that old door is going to look fantastic! I plan to paint the wall around it purple, hang a funky light and buy this cool purple chaise lounge chair I have had my eye on. I think it will be pretty cool.
Now, where is the aspirin?

Hey, Happy Bunny Day everyone!
Starting Tuesday, this week will be insanely busy but I will try to keep up on the diary at least. My scene with Van Damage on Wednesday fell through, the date changed, but that’s okay cause they (North Pole Prod., not Van) were trying to get me to cut my rate. Cheap bastards, like the extra $200-300 makes that big of a difference! For me it’s just the principal, but still. I have a good name, I look good and am recognizable plus I show up on time and do good scenes! Usually when directors try to get you to cut your rate, the extra goes into their pocket. Not to mention, they should want to shoot me since come June 1st I am under contract and no one will be able to put me in movies except myself and other Platinum X directors. Nonetheless, I am bummed cause I love working with Van Damage.
Speaking of bunnies, Tuesday I am on Playboy's XM radio from 4-7 (pst) then I head over to the set (Bryn aka Eli Cross is shooting 4 days this week, a huge, nasty g/g movie) since I am the behind-the-scenes camera girl all four days, in addition to doing to two scenes.

Kylie signs with Platinum X
Platinum X Pictures Signs Adult Superstar Kylie Ireland to Exclusive Directing & Performing Contract
Canoga Park, CA - Platinum X Pictures and Jewel DeNyle are thrilled to welcome legendary adult performer Kylie Ireland into the PXP family. Effective June 1st, Ireland will become an exclusive contract talent working only for Platinum X Pictures.
"I've known Kylie for years," explains Platinum X owner Jewel DeNyle. "I've worked with her many times, but the most fun we've had has always been off-camera. I want to help Kylie bring that to the screen. I'm gonna help her expose her inner slut."
As part of the exclusive deal, Ireland will also be stepping behind the camera as a director for the very first time.
"I'm nervous, but I'm excited," says Ireland. "I've wanted to make this move for years, but I wanted to be sure I was ready. I wanted the right producer, and the right company, that were going to let me do all the really nasty things I've always wanted. Jewel and Platinum X are the ones."
Ireland's first PXP appearance will be in DeNyle's own video, FireBush.
"I'm guessing it's something to do with redheads," says Ireland jokingly. "It will be a first taste of the kind of things you can expect from me."
The first release with Ireland at the helm will be Kylie Doesn't Live Here Anymore. Ireland promises that this video will showcase her in a whole new light.
"The entire point of this video is to shatter the image most people have of Kylie Ireland as the fluffy, girl-next-door pornstar," explains Ireland. "I'm not that girl anymore. I've wanted to do super-hardcore scenes for ages now, but directors don't believe it, so I'm damned well going to do it myself."
The video will include, among other things, Ireland's first-ever DP and gangbang, as well as several surprises guaranteed to shock longtime fans.
"I think a few guys out there who've been watching me since I was the little blonde ingénue are going to have heart attacks," laughs Ireland. "But a lot of my fans have been clamoring for these scenes, and it's something I very much want to do, so most people - myself included - will be happy."
Other future projects include at least two additional lines including a fetish series.

X-Con ReCap
Sunday was the first annual X-Con Fan convention, held at the Entertainium Studios in downtown Los Angeles. The show, put on by Layla Jade was a bit slow but has potential. With a bit more marketing it could turn into a regular event.
I attended X-Con to represent Las Vegas Adult Novelties, the makers of my exclusive toy line. I had toys, DVD's and polaroids for sale and was signing LVN Posters for free. It was a mellow day but sorta nice since it gave me the opportunity to take the time to chat with some of my fans.

XM Radio again
Just got the last minute call to fill in on Playboy's Nightcalls XM Radio show. Juli is on vacation this week and Tiffany has laryngitis. The guest host today is my fellow LVN contract girl Christi Lake and since Tiff is out sick they asked me to come in! It's always a fun show to do. One of the guests today is Shayla LaVeaux so that will make it even more fun.
After the show is over I will be heading off to KSEX for Kylie Live, since I have no guest this evening I am going to try convince Christi or Shayla or both to come on with me....
