10/01/2006: "Catching up with Kylie"

I guess it was a good thing Bryn and I took a trip to Disneyland before the shoot began 2 weeks ago because boy-oh-boy was it a shoot from hell.

Disneyland is one of those places we reserve for when we are about at our wits end and we need a break, a removal from society. No work can touch us here, as long as we leave our cell phones in the car. We have season passes and let me tell you, that makes a world of difference when going to D’neyland. We can amble around the park, enjoying little stuff, have lunch, ride a ride or two, have hot chocolate – no pressure. Not like when you go and buy a day pass and are running around like a Madhatter trying to get on as many rides as possible. Disneyland at a leisurely pace is really nice. We even hit a couple rides at California Adventure just cause we could. For the record, don’t bother. There really are only maybe 3 good rides there and one of them is the Hollywood Tower of Terror, which I highly recommend. We hit the New Pirates of the Caribbean to check out the changes – (shrug) they weren’t offensive nor extensive but I am sort of a purist when it comes to D’neyland so I preferred the original. A jaunt through Indiana Jones, a couple three rounds of Astro Blasters which is an interactive laser target shooting game/ride (I beat Bryn all three times) and some hot chocolate as we watched the tourists roll out.



And Wednesday began the shoot from hell. The shoot was cursed. Usually cursed shoots are reserved for anything directed by Eli Cross (oh, the stories I could tell you) and for some reason someone must have thought this was his shoot because a myriad of tragedies went down from the first day to the last. Eli/Bryn was my cameraman and he wrote about some of it in his myspace blog, if you missed it it is a good read (Eli's Blog - The Glamorous World of Porn) …and this blog only covers one day. I won’t go into other gory details but by the following Wednesday I was damn sick with a nasty cold and that made it all oh-so much more fun. All in all the movies will look great though and no one will ever know the trials of the shoot. Double Shocker 3, Hot Squirts 4 and Toy Boxes 2 all from Bad Seed will all be released in the new year…I will give details as I find them out.

My cold had progressed to a sincerely ugly beast by Friday and the added cough forced me to call in sick to my Playboy Radio Show. After all one certainly cannot talk all sexy on the radio when coughing fits are happening every couple sentences. Finally by today, Monday, I am beginning to feel human again and ready to attack the pile of post-production work on the movies in addition to everything else that gets pushed aside when you are shooting 3 movies at once.

This Thursday is an exciting day for me. For my birthday back in May Bryn scored me the most killer present ever. Tickets to the Roger Waters concert at the Hollywood Bowl on October 5th. I am sooooo looking forward to Thursday. Nah, nah, nanny boo boo.
