10/30/2005: "Disneyland Quick Recap"

Can I begin to tell you how great it was to take an entire day, go to Disneyland and forget about the rest of the world? Yessss! Didn’t even take the cellphone.

When we first arrived we were waiting to meet our friends who were in line for Space Mountain and decided to zip into some new ride called Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters…we found ourselves in the middle of a video game! They give you these laser blaster guns and you shoot at stuff for points while spinning your car around. This ride rocked! So much so that we went and grabbed our friends and went right back for another round of blasting.

We hit all the usual suspects, all the big rides; Space Mountain, The Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain. We rode the King Arthur Carrousel (I so love real carrousel horses and have always wanted a real one for myself), Alice in Wonderland, Snow White’s Scary Adventures…visited the Haunted Mansion that was all done up in it’s yearly Nightmare Before Christmas dressing and giggled at how New Orleans Square wasn’t complete with watermarks on the buildings.

In the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean where it goes dark, Bryn grabbed my tit and I, being a smartass, squealed into the dark “Hey! Somebody grabbed my boob!”…the guy in the row in front of us said “oh, sorry!”.

It was great fun that of course was over too soon so we decided to buy or annual passes (hey, they credit the day’s ticket and parking), after all living in downtown LA we are really only about 20 minute straight shot down the 5 to Disneyland. Now with the passes we can go to California Adventure and if it sucks not feel like we were ripped off (actually I heard it’s not bad). I can also do all the stuff at Disneyland you never have the time to do, you know, the rides you skip over to make sure you get in all the cool ones, and so on. If we get all stressed and overworked we can drive down and go on a ride or two, have a hot dog and kick it for a few hours. I think having these passes is a fabulous stress reliever and I can’t wait to use them more.

We are actually considering going to Disneyland for Thanksgiving.

Hey there angel! I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit to Disneyland. :) Those were some cool stories that you shared. Season passes are an awesome idea. I'm sure you will put them to very good use during the upcoming holidays.

Uh, if you read that carefully you will notice that it was my boyfriend who grabbed my boob, not a stranger...

Geez.
