07/07/2005: "War of the Worlds"

We went to see it on the 4th of July. I am fortunate enough to be one of those people who can just shut down and go along for the ride during a movie - therefore I really enjoyed War of the Worlds , I found it very entertaining and suspensful. The CGI (with the exception of the sequence where the train goes by) was all excellent making this a movie to be seen in the theaters to experience the full visual and audio effects. The were some glaring inconsistencies like the camcorder and the people in the car on the ferry (which of course were there because they were great visual shots) that bugged me a bit and of course I was disappointed by the Spielberg Hollywood happy ending.

Bryn is one of those types who analyzes the movie (fortunately in his own head, not out loud) as the movie is playing out. Therefore the huge plot holes drove him crazy. Discussing the movie afterwards I see and I agree with him and his analyzation but still...I liked it.
